The NoMad Hotel ownership needed to relieve their very successful, but overwhelmed bar. Choosing to expand the footprint of their operations, they purchased an adjoining building, creating a connected but distinct destination. The NoMad bar echoes the traditional charm of a continental pub, at once luxurious yet comfortable. Clad in rich stones and leathers, floor to ceiling wood paneling, mosaic floors and custom millwork, design detail is present in every corner of the establishment – patrons are welcomed into a warm and refined environment that complements the menu’s offerings. The gut renovation turned the Ground Floor into an upscale, full service bar with sit-down dining on the Mezzanine level, and a newly designed and Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) approved storefront. The Cellar was transformed into a dedicated kitchen, while also providing a secondary means of egress for the tenants in the upper floors of the building.
