When the owners of this brownstone townhouse on East 50th Street, Manhattan, realized that the newly applied stucco on their building was beginning to crack and pull off of the building at multiple locations they stopped work and called us in to determine what needed to be done. Working with our consulting engineer, we inspected the work, removed portions of the stucco and determined that the underlying brownstone itself would need to be repaired. We devised a method to pin the loose stones to the masonry backup, repair lintels, and apply new stucco in a reliable method with control joints reflecting the layout of the actual brownstone beneath it.
