Originally a 1920’s colonial which underwent numerous additions over the years, the new owners of this home on the North Shore of Long Island desired a more open and light filled plan. Studio 88 worked with the owners to develop an interior architecture with a flowing main level, open yet with distinct organization. We developed a simple palette of tones and materials to unify the appearance and embody a playful spirit for this young family. Special care was taken to minimize the bulk of exposed columns by wrapping the steel in leather. The stair stringers and treads were CNC machined by Studio 88. To give the parents some peaceful respite, we apportioned extra square footage to the master suite while giving the master bath boutique design touches.
